Just being outside, surrounded by nature can be enough to improve mental health. There is a natural grounding effect which enhances mood and reduces tension. It brings us closer to our true selves, removing us from the stresses of the modern world. We gain perspective. Walking, in addition to being beneficial to physical health, stimulates the production of Serotonin within the body, a chemical which lifts mood. Walk and talk therapy is holistic, recognising the interdependence of body and mind. As one relaxes, it may be easier for the other to do so too and this can help release tension or trauma held throughout.
Some may also feel more comfortable walking side by side with their therapist, away from the intensity of the therapy room.

Walking therapy is not suitable for everyone and at least one initial session will be carried out online or inside.
Sessions are carried out in all weathers unless the conditions are extreme.
